The conference will be held at the University
of New England (UNE), in Armidale, NSW. Armidale is located in the New England
region of the Northern Tablelands, approximately midway between Sydney and
Brisbane. The area is well known for grazing and the production of high-grade
fine wool, and for the beautiful gorge country that lies close outside the
city. UNE is the oldest regional University in Australia, and lies five
kilometres to the northwest of the city centre, in a rural and bushland setting.
Armidale is on the New England Highway, which is the inland route between Sydney and Brisbane. Driving time from Sydney or Brisbane is around 5.5 to 6.5 hours (depending on your route) and less than 3 hours from the coast.
Armidale is serviced by daily flights from both Sydney (QANTAS and Regional Express) and Brisbane (Fly Corporate).
The Country Link train runs a daily rail service from Armidale to Sydney and Sydney to Armidale. New England Coaches also operate services to Brisbane and the North Coast including Coffs Harbour, Kempsey and Port Macquarie.
