Early- and mid-career researcher support

Science at the Shine Dome 2019 brings together the foremost and highest achieving scientists of Australia for a three-day celebration of Australian science.

Early- and mid-career researchers (EMCRs) will be inspired by hearing from newly elected Fellows and awardees about their latest research across a range of science disciplines. They will also have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with renowned scientists, and to build networks with other early- and mid-career researchers.

Exposure to many prominent and decorated researchers will help EMCRs build their networks and give them confidence to propel their career forward, setting them on course to influence the future.

In addition to hearing from and networking with leading scientists across disciplines, EMCR Grants include attendance at the annual symposium, EMCR Masterclass and Dinner, the Gala Dinner to be held at the National Museum of Australia, and an EMCR professional development workshop of their choosing.

Universities, research institutes and other research organisations can partner with the Australian Academy of Science and the EMCR Forum to offer EMCRs at their organisations the opportunity to attend this prestigious Academy event in 2019.

How does it work?

Interested organisations can apply to pay via grants for a number of their eligible EMCRs to attend. We will make all the arrangements with the nominated EMCRs.

EMCRs will need to negotiate directly with their institution to take up one of these grants. Download a copy of the EMCR Supporter document to take to your institution.
